青森の夏を熱くする「青森ねぶた祭」（８月２～７日）の開幕まで１カ月を切った。青森市安方の「ねぶたラッセランド」では、多くのねぶたで骨組みや電気配線が終わり、紙貼りや墨書き、色付けなどの作業が着々と進められている。「サンロード青森」の大型ねぶたを手がけるねぶた師の千葉作龍さんは「風格のある作品にロマンを感じてもらえれば」と仕上がりに自信を見せた。「日立連合ねぶた委員会」のねぶた師、北村蓮明さんの妻、玲子さんは「前はもちろん、送り（後ろ側）のリンゴ娘も見どころの一つ。練り歩くとリンゴが揺れる仕組みになっている」と工夫を語った。青森ねぶた祭実行委員会事務局によると、今年運行される大型ねぶたは昨年と同じ計２２台。運行時間は、８月２～６日が午後７時１０分～同９時ごろ。最終日の７日は午後１～３時で、同７時１５分からは打ち上げ花火とともに、６台の大型ねぶたが青森港内で海上運行される予定。有料観覧席は今年から、個人、団体ともに４００円値上げされ３０００円となったが、販売目標の計５万４０００席のうち約９割が販売済みという
