県内最大規模の朝市「館鼻（たてはな）岸壁日曜朝市」が１６日、八戸市新湊地区の八戸漁港で始まった。約８００メートルの通りに約３００店舗が並び、市内の観光スポットの一つにもなっている。新鮮な野菜や魚などを買い求め、多くの人でにぎわっていた。同朝市は、２００４年から始まり、今回で１１年目。春の彼岸入り前の日曜が年始めで、１２月末までの毎週日曜（５月１１日の八戸うみねこマラソン全国大会開催日を除く）、日の出から午前１０時まで開かれる。運営する湊日曜朝市会によると、季節ごとに旬な食材が並び、街角のスーパーよりも安いため、地元客も多いという。
