光の競演が銀世界を幻想的に彩る「十和田湖冬物語2015」が6日、十和田市の湖畔休屋特設会場で開幕した。雪像などが闇に浮かび上がる会場で、大輪の花火が夜空を焦がし、観光客を楽しませた。3月1日まで。会場では、陸上自衛隊八戸駐屯地が制作した高さ8メートル、幅23・4メートル、奥行き14・3メートルの巨大雪像「ねぶたとなまはげ」が、大迫力で来場者を“お出迎え”。光のゲートやスノーランプが周囲を優しく照らした。観光客は「ゆきあかり横丁（よこちょう）」で青森、秋田両県のグルメを味わったり、かまくらバーや足湯でくつろいだり、思い思いに祭り気分に浸っていた。期間中は毎日午後8時から約10分間、花火が打ち上げられる。湖畔を象徴する乙女の像もライトアップされる。
