来月２日から「青森ねぶた祭」が始まるのを前に、青森市では、完成間近のねぶたを台車に載せる「台上げ」作業が進められています。青森市の青い海公園では、「青森ねぶた祭」で運行される大型のねぶたの制作が大詰めを迎えています。「青森ねぶた祭」まで、１週間あまりとなる中、大型ねぶたの「台上げ」作業が行われ、およそ３０人ほどが高さ５メートルほどのねぶたを、まちを引き回すための台車の上に載せていきました。２４日台上げされる６台のねぶたのうち、ねぶた師の外崎白鴻さんが制作した「達磨大師喝」という作品は、インドから中国に渡り、禅宗を開いたとされる僧侶の邪気を振り払う迫力ある姿を表現したということです。台上げが終わると、ねぶたは、あんどんやちょうちんなどが飾りつけられ、祭り本番を待つことになります。外崎さんは、「飾りたてずに迫力だけで勝負する作品にしました。重量感のあるねぶたを作り上げたので、ぜひ、祭りで楽しんでほしい」と話していました。青森ねぶた祭は、来月２日から始まり、あわせて２２台の大型ねぶたが運行されます。
