歌手五木ひろし（６５）が６日、東京・北の丸公園の日本武道館で芸能生活５０周年記念公演ツアーの初日を迎えた。オープニングでは５０人のダンサーを従え、コロッケのものまねコーナーもあり、三味線７９人との合奏、都はるみと「居酒屋」のデュエットなど盛りだくさんの内容で、約３時間半かけて５４曲を約８０００人のファンに披露した。終盤では長女華菜子さん（１９）からステージ上で花束を渡され、感極まったように目頭を押さえた。「『五木ひろし』の芸名になる前の売れなかった時代があるから今がある。今日が新たな『五木ひろし』のスタート。体重も４０歳から変わっていないし、自分では４０歳だと思っている。声が続く限り歌い続ける」と生涯歌手宣言した。
５０周年にちなんで国内で５０公演以上を行い、台湾を含む海外公演も行う予定だ。
