柔道家からプロレスラーに転向し、かつてアントニオ猪木とも対戦した“オランダの赤鬼”ビレム・ルスカ氏が、１４日に死去したことが明らかになった。国際柔道連盟が１５日、発表した。７４歳だった。ルスカ氏の死去を受け、７６年２月に「格闘技世界一決定戦」で対決したアントニオ猪木参院議員は１５日、ＩＧＦを通じて次のようなコメントを発表した。「逝去の報に接し、謹んでお悔やみ申し上げます。最近では、体調を崩されているということを聞いていましたので、心に留めておりました。激闘を繰り広げた、かつてのライバルたちを見送ることは非常に辛いものです。心からご冥福をお祈り致します」
ルスカ氏は２００１年に脳出血で倒れ、療養生活を送っていた。
