ことしの「青森ねぶた祭」の実行委員会が開かれ、祭りの呼び物となる大型ねぶたは例年通り、２２台以内とすることが決まりました。「青森ねぶた祭」の実行委員会は青森市内のホテルで開かれ、県や市の担当者のほか、観光関係者などおよそ３０人が出席しました。この中で実行委員会の事務局からことしの「ねぶた祭」の基本方針が示され、祭りの呼び物となる大型ねぶたは、例年通り２２台以内とすることが決まりました。また、ねぶたは、去年と同じく県庁前の国道７号線と、新町通りの２つを起点に運行することになりました。青森ねぶた祭実行委員会の奈良秀則委員長は、「ことしはねぶた祭が平日と重なるほか、北陸新幹線の開業もあり、集客は厳しい状況が予想されるが、来年の北海道新幹線の開業に向けて頑張っていきたい」と述べました。青森ねぶた祭は、８月２日から７日まで行われます。

Chairperson Hidenori Nara of the Aomori Nebuta Festival executive committee stated, "Nebuta Festival fell on weekdays this year, and there was the opening of business of the Hokuriku Shinkansen and the severe situation was expected, but wants to try the pulling in customers hard for the opening of business of the Hokkaido Shinkansen in the next year". Aomori Nebuta Festival is held from August 2 to 7th.
