冬の間、雪に閉ざされる青森県の八甲田山系の国道、「八甲田・十和田ゴールドライン」で、来月の開通を目指して除雪作業が進められています。「八甲田・十和田ゴールドライン」は、八甲田山系の青森市酸ヶ湯と十和田湖を結ぶ国道の通称で、毎年１１月下旬から３月末までは雪のため、このうち８キロの区間が閉鎖されます。道路を管理する青森県は来月１日の開通を目指して先月２３日から除雪を始め１０日は、閉鎖ゲートのある酸ヶ湯から２キロほど進んだ場所で作業を行いました。
酸ヶ湯の１０日の積雪は、午前１０時現在で３メートル４３センチとほぼ平年並みで、除雪作業が進んだ道路脇は高さが４メートルから７メートルほどの雪の壁になっています。作業にあたる人たちは、高く積もった雪をロータリー車で削り取りながら勢いよく道路脇に飛ばし、６メートル以上の道幅を確保すると、壁面をきれいに整えて雪の回廊を形づくっていました。除雪作業を担当する業者の工藤由昭さんは、「雪の回廊を楽しみにしている市民の声を聞くとやりがいを感じます。まだ雪が降るという予報もありますが、頑張って予定通り開通させたい」と話していました。

日本市民スポーツ連盟（JVA）公認大会。冬季間通行止となる国道103号、通称「八甲田・十和田ゴールドライン」の高さ最高9mにもおよぶ雪の大回廊を歩く。片道8km。ウォーク後は青森を代表する名湯でゆっくり温泉入浴が楽しめる。青森県観光物産館アスパムに集合後、バスで山に向かう。八戸、弘前からの出発も可能。※要事前申込み。締切は2015年3月20日（金）

During winter, the snow-removal work is pushed forward for the opening to traffic of next month at national highway of Hakkoda Mountains of snowbound Aomori origin, "Hakkoda, Towada gold line".
