日本を代表する夏祭り「青森ねぶた祭」のねぶたがアメリカ西海岸のロサンゼルスに登場し、勇壮な姿に沿道に集まった人たちから大きな歓声があがりました。ねぶたの運行はことしで７５回目を迎えたロサンゼルスの日系人の伝統の祭り、「２世ウィーク」の一環として行われました。１６日、パレードのとりとして源義経を題材にした幅６メートル、高さ５メートルの大きなねぶたが登場し、ロサンゼルス中心部の日系人街、リトル・トーキョーを練り歩きました。ねぶたの周りでは笛や太鼓のお囃子にあわせて１００人を超える「ハネト」と呼ばれる踊り手たちが、熱のこもった踊りを披露し、雰囲気を盛り上げました。
このねぶたは、ことしの「青森ねぶた祭」で最優秀制作者賞に選ばれたねぶた師の竹浪比呂央さんがロサンゼルスの人たちの協力も得て、制作したもので勇壮な姿に、沿道からは大きな歓声があがっていました。初めてねぶたを見たという女性は「回転したり大きく前後に動いたりするところがすばらしかった」と話していました。ロサンゼルスで青森のねぶたが披露されるのは８年ぶりのことで、実現に向けて取り組んできた現地に住む豊島年昭さんは「多くの人の協力で実現し感激している」と話していました。

The woman who watched Nebuta for the first time told, "the place that turned, and moved before and after raising it was splendid". It was about eight years yellowtail that Nebuta of Aomori was shown in Los Angeles, and Teshima Toshiaki who lived in the field that wrestled for realization told you, "I realized it by the cooperation of many people and am moved".
