12月18日に公開される「スター・ウォーズ／フォースの覚醒」。同日より、本作の公開を記念した展示イベント「スター・ウォーズの世界～フォース・フォー・ジャパン～」が東京・日テレホールにて開催される。
これは、2015年の“スター・ウォーズイヤー”を盛り上げたアートを集めたイベント。8月の青森ねぶた祭に登場した「スター・ウォーズねぶた」全4台や、11月に京都・清水寺でお披露目された「『スター・ウォーズ／フォースの覚醒』風神レイ＆雷神カイロ・レン屏風」と「『覚醒』の書」などが1会場に集結する。さらに日本人俳優やタレントたちがそれぞれの感性で新キャラクター・BB-8をデザインした“BB-8アート”の展示も決定。この企画には中川翔子や田辺誠一、ラーメンズ・片桐仁、速水もこみち、片岡鶴太郎ら計17名が参加する。中でも「大好きなハン・ソロさまとチューバッカを描きました。ルークもレイアもC-3POもR2-D2も……みんな愛おしい」とコメントした中川は、BB-8のボディを宇宙に見立ててキャラクターを星座のように配置した作品を制作中とのことだ。そのほか最新作のヒロインであるレイや、フィン、カイロ・レン、BB-8といったキャラクターを精巧に再現した等身大フィギュアもお披露目。カイロ・レンをモチーフとした羽子板や、キャラクターが描かれた将棋盤と駒など、日本各地の伝統芸能アーティストが制作した世界に1つだけの「スター・ウォーズ」アートも見ることができる。
