アメリカ・ロサンゼルスで現地時間のきのう、クリスマスパレードが行われ、青森のねぶたが初めて出陣、ハネトたちとともに現地の観客を沸かせました。ロサンゼルス・ハリウッドで開かれた全米最大級のクリスマスパレード。映画の街・ハリウッドらしくスター・ウォーズの登場人物や人気キャラクターたちが先導する中、姿をあらわした、ねぶた。ねぶた師の竹浪比呂央さんと現地の県人会が手掛けた「津軽海峡・義経渡海」です。ハリウッドの目抜き通りに敷かれたレッドカーペットを力強く、勇壮に練り歩きました。今回のねぶたは、ことし８月にもロサンゼルスの日系人二世フェスティバルに出陣していて、大型ねぶたの姿は地元の人たちのハートをしっかりとつかんだようです。
